	Ipdisp
	======

	ipdisp is a display program for images from image plate
scanners: it is really bits of code from the Display level of Madnes,
assembled as a stand-alone program.

	You need to:

1) compile John Campbell's xdl_view routines into libxdl_view.a
somewhere (this is don with a Makefile in XDL_VIEW/src, also from the
ipdisp Makefile)
	Fontnames may be defined in .Xdefaults or .Xresources,
depending on what is available on your machine (see
XDL_VIEW/src/Xdl_resources.*). There is a default set defined in
xdl_view.c which may or may not work

2) compile & link ipdisp (see Makefile) to generate ipdisp.exe

3) edit & execute script "ipdisp" to run it. This sets environment
variables to point to the "SPD" file, which contains the record
length, number of records, etc. These are called
	spdfil.mar	Mar scanner
	spdfil.rax	Raxis scanner
