Installing New Task Interfaces Distributed by CCP4
CCP4 may occasionally distribute the necessary code for an individual task interface
between full releases. These will be distributed as compressed .tar files and there is a
tool to install them automatically at the bottom of the menu on the right hand side of
the main window. Using this tool you should only need to select the task source file and
hit the Install button.
The distribution may contain files with the following extentions which should be
placed in the following directories:
| extension | directory |
| .def | $CCP4I_top/tasks |
| .tcl | $CCP4I_top/tasks |
| .script | $CCP4I_top/scipts |
| .com | $CCP4I_top/templates |
There will also be a file called modules which contains the text to be inserted
into the file $CCP4I_top/etc/modules.
Normally the new task name will appear at the bottom of the list of tasks in the module menu
on the left hand side of the main window. This may not be appropriate and you may need to
manually edit the modules file to change the order. Also if the new task interface is
intended to completely replace an existing task interface you will need to edit the modules
file to delete (or 'comment out' with # characters) reference to the old task interface.
